Aya Kagayama
Min'yo Performer (Born in Kanazawa)
She began performing as a min’yo (folk songs) singer at the age of six, influenced by her father, Akira Kagayama, who is also a min’yo singer. She continues to study singing, shamisen (three-stringed guitar), kokyu (Japanese violin), and taiko drums under his guidance.
In 2006, she earned the rank of teacher in the Kagayama school. She is now actively involved in a wide range of activities to popularise min’yo.
