She has been active as a yokobue (transverse flute) player since 1995 and is the president of Isseikai, an organisation through which she strives to promote the development of traditional Japanese music, including teaching children.

 

Her performances span a wide range of genres, from traditional music to popular music and original compositions, both in Japan and abroad.
